Requirements for running JsSetup¶
.NET¶
JsSetup is a Windows application, built for x64 systems. JsSetup will run on Windows 10, Windows 11 and other platforms that support running .NET 6 executables. Some versions of Windows are delivered without a .NET 6 desktop runtime. When running the jssetup.exe, you may see a prompt, asking you to install .NET. Unfortunately, in some cases, the presented link does not work. Alternatively, you may install the .NET Desktop Runtime 6.x directly from Microsoft.
JS-50 Scanners and ScanSync devices¶
JsSetup will work without any discovered scanners, allowing you to make some edits to a scansystem, however, you will not be able to see a live preview of your changes.
All current JS-50 models with a Firmware of 16.2 and higher are supported. Not all devices support all features offered by JsSetup.
Network Access and Firewall Settings¶
JsSetup needs to be able to discover JS-50 scanners on your network. When running JsSetup for the first time, you may see a prompt asking you to let JsSetup communicate on the local network.

Click Allow Access to acknowledge.
Windows Firewall Message
JsSetup will also periodically check the status of the Windows Firewall. If the firewall is enabled, JsSetup will show a notification that the firewall may block JsSetup from discovering scanners. JsSetup will not attempt to change the firewall settings.
You can disable this notification in the configuration file. See Configuration Options for details.
